We are preparing to go to the show and it is a good time to think about: The booth and graphics, displays, brochures, etc.
More importantly what we feature and pass along to our sales staff. It needs to be simple and understood.
I think our new word is TEMPLATE, which is a pattern to follow. Rather than going product by product, we offer a TEMPLATE (example to the right), which includes all the products we offer, like:
Ladies template where we show the crystal, open stock, Koman foundation, country club crystal, the permanent marker which goes permanently on the hat, belt, shoe, putter cover, or putter itself. Also with the stem tool, applied to the licensee hats and gloves. Show display with graphics personalized to their club and complete with inventory that takes no more counter space than the frame without inventory. We show the magna coins, the stamped slide coins, score coin with ladies tees, bag tag of all material. Note that the ladies are an untapped profit center and the ones that make 70% of the purchase choices. Men may pay for it and wear it but ladies buy it!
Men's template. Most of what is above but with new tri fork, Unistem, Male Variety of coins, and tools, etc. We need to bring all this together with the catalog and press releases, etc.

GOLF DESIGN BIO
GOLF DESIGN, founded by John R. Tate, has been a corporation since 1972. The company started out manufacturing their own line of leading-edge, peripheral-weighted golf clubs including woods, irons, wedges, and putters. With over forty patents they were the first to put a hand-painted logoed ballmarker (the size of a quarter or dime) into a divot tool and to add a belt clip onto it.
This became the BELT CLIP DIVOT TOOL and later included a tool with a watch, or money clip, in the back.
John then took this hand-painted ballmarker and made it stronger by embedding the magnet in the back of the coin itself so that it holds much stronger than any of the competition i.e. imitators, who have the magnet in the tool. This is called the MAGNAMARK, a patented process you’ll only find with Golf Design products.
One of John Tate’s most popular inventions is the HAT CLIP: which has the magnetized ball marker (Magnamark) on a clip connected to the hat to mark the golf ball; this also works for the glove and shoe (the Magnashoe and Magnahat). The Hat Clip was initially inspired by another of John’s inventions: the HIDDEN HAT TRICK, which has the magnet embedded into the bill (or side) of the hat, allowing the ball marker to stick to it. Using this same patent, Golf Design has a master contract with New Era Golf Company that provides MAGNAHATS for Titleist, Callaway, Imperial Headwear, Cleveland Golf, and other major accounts.
The Hat Clip has increased the profitability of hats by adding the clip and marker, making them more than sun-protection and thus becoming a necessary accessory i.e. Necessary (a word registered by John Tate), turning it into a profit center and making the “pie” even bigger.
John recently invented the GAME DAY COIN: which puts a college football team’s schedule on a collectable coin; the SCORE COIN: which puts the score card information on the coin; the TROPHY BAG TAG, bringing scorecard information to plastic and metal bag tags; and the POCKET COIN, providing your company or golf club’s logo on a collectable coin. The Pocket Coin, Game Day Coin, Score Coin and Trophy Bag Tag all include our magnetized ball marker (Magnamark) inside the coin itself i.e. a coin within a coin.
